When I received the unit the interface was very buggy and would revert back to Chinese and forget all of my settings. After talking to support they sent me a firmware update which made the interface stable and no longer buggy. But it does require 10 minutes to do the update, and may not be possible by people with less than a basic understanding of technology.
Using an infrared thermometer I could tell the platen was very evenly heating up. It is also a rather quick unit to heat up.
I have only had the unit for a week, but if I had to guess at the long term quality, the metal frame is a little too thin to last forever, the hinges / pins do not look like you could replace what will wear out, and finally the welds are only covering about 50% of each metal to metal boundary. So I would not expect the unit to last much over 10 years, but for this price with these advanced features I wasn't really expecting it to last forever.
